Bayad is a taluka place located in the district of Sabarkantha in Gujarat state. It is nearly 56 kilometers away in the direction of south from district head quarters Himmatnagar. Gandhinagar, the state capital of Gujarat is situated at the distance of 68 kilometers from Bayad. The popular Bayad community got their name from this village itself and called as such.

In British Raj, Bayad was the part of Vijaynagar State which was the princely state in this region. In recent past, Bayad was carved in new district called Aravalli along with 5 other talukas in Gujarat.
